ABOUT ANNA

I am passionate about promoting community wellness through yoga, acupuncture, massage therapy, nutrition, herbalism and wilderness experiences.

I am a licensed acupuncturist, herbalist and certified massage therapist with a master’s degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine as well as a bachelor’s degree in Outdoor Education, Social Environmental Issues and Transformational Art.

Having practiced yoga since youth, I began teaching in 1998. I trained in classical Hatha Yoga through the Ashtanga Yoga Institute, in Anusara Yoga at Seattle Yoga Arts, and Therapeutic Yoga with Cheri Clampett. In my yoga classes I like to integrate the strong alignment traditions of BKS Iyengar, a graceful heart opening attitude, and a deep connection to the natural world with the flowing sequences of Vinyasa.

I am passionate about promoting individual wellness, and love to help people heal on an indivdual basis. As wellness is a personal and multi-level process, I treat each client and every session uniquely and often incorporate several healing modalities to achieve optimum results. Using modalities from acupuncture and herbal medicine to Swedish and deep tissue massage to Shiatsu and Tuina bodywork, I aim to get to the root causes of chronic health issues as I address the various aspects of a whole body. My training includes Five Branches University, Twin Lakes College of Healing Arts, Body Electric School, McKinnon Body Therapy Center and the Acupressure Institute.

I enjoy the process of experiential education, encouraging learning and growth through authentic real-world experiences. I have a bachelor’s degree in Outdoor Education, Social Environmental Issues and Transformational Art through Prescott College. For more than 20 years I have led wilderness and cultural expeditions as an instructor and guide for organizations such as Outward Bound, REI Outdoor School, Global Routes, and the Yosemite Mountaineering School. I am also a certified Wilderness First Responder trained in search and rescue techniques.

A passionate dancer, outdoor athlete, and world traveler, I am committed to spreading the spirit of adventure and exploration. My intention is to nurture and support embodied, passionate living through yoga, creativity, and mindfulness practices.
